About the Night

Join us for an Icelandic tasting menu or for “An Evening In Iceland,” an interactive event celebrating Icelandic cuisine and culture, at Luma (350 King St W, TIFF Bell Lightbox, 2nd Floor). Read on for more details on the Taste of Iceland festivities.

ICELANDIC TASTING MENU

Acclaimed Icelandic Chef Ylfa Helgadóttir, Chef de Cuisine and Owner of Kopar, has collaborated with Michael Wilson, Chef de Cuisine of Luma, and Anthony Walsh, Corporate Executive Chef of Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants, to create a four-course prix-fixe menu (below), showcasing fine, authentic Icelandic delicacies.

When: Dinner service. Thursday, November 12 – Saturday, November 14, 2015

Taste of Iceland Menu

Icelandic Cod

Dill mayo, seaweed salad, salmon roe

Langoustine Risotto

Shellfish sauce, fennel salad

Icelandic Lamb

Small potatoes, creamed mushrooms with port and garlic, garlic confit

Icelandic Skyr

Sorbet, caramelized white chocolate, cream cheese mousse, raspberries
(Skyr is a low fat Icelandic milk product similar to cheese)


AN EVENING IN ICELAND

Join us for an interactive event, featuring Icelandic music, cuisine and inspired drink! During the cocktail and canapé reception, you will enjoy live performances by an Icelandic folk artist and will meet and hear from Chef Michael Wilson and Chef Ylfa Helgadóttir. You will be seated at communal tables for your four-course dinner, featuring the very best of authentic Icelandic cuisine and fine wine pairings. As the meal is served, Chef Ylfa Helgadóttir will mingle with the tables, speaking on the unique features of the Icelandic dishes.

When: 5:00pm cocktail reception, 5:45pm dinner. Sunday, November 15, 2015
