About the Night
On Tuesday, October 18, around 50 foodies and fans gathered at Luma for a cocktail reception, Q&A and three-course dinner with self-taught chef and author Ayesha Curry. The Q&A portion of the event was led by Krista Faist (Publisher, Foodism Toronto), speaking with Ayesha about everything from Southern American culinary influences to accessible cooking for the entire family.
Executive Chef Michael Wilson and Chef de Cuisine Jacky Lo delivered an incredible menu featuring recipes from Ayesha’s new cookbook, The Seasoned Life. Guests enjoyed bites of deviled eggs and prosciutto-wrapped dates before diving into a hearty meatball and cabbage soup, followed by sweet and savoury shrimp with grits. To top it all off, the kitchen served a deliciously sweet key lime pie with cinnamon toast and coconut ice cream.
